April Resolutions

In the spirit of Bathsheba, I am going to make a couple of resolutions here on the interwebs, in the vague hope that perhaps I will actually make progress on a couple of things I have been ‘meaning to get around to’ for months.
And hey, April is no less random than January when you get [...]

Shopping for Spring

In the past week, I have purchased 1/2 dozen tulips; two bunches of daffodils (from the Cancer Society, of course), and 2 items of spring clothing (1 for the office, one not so much).
I am on the lookout for more office-appropriate spring attire, and a new bike helmet since I have started biking again.
It appears [...]

I was feeling pretty good this morning. The stomach was mostly normal and I slept well (despite my nightmare that China had declared war and that I was throwing burning bits of airplanes off of my house’s roof, so that our home wouldn’t burn down. We were also stock piling food and taking all our [...]

Soup, pt. II

This one’s for me. Sweet potato and corn chowder. A new favorite. Fairly simple, and very yummy.
I’m hoping it will perk me up, as my stomach has been grumpy all day and I’m feeling achey.
If you would like to try it, here’s the recipe. It also freezes well – of course, I have yet to [...]

Soup

I’ve been somewhat angsty this week – trying to figure out how to get from where I am now, to where I want to be. Take French? Change jobs? Volunteer? Be more awesome?
On Friday, Roommate got a message from the woman who lives in the basement apt. Apparently, she’d spent the better part of a [...]

Come On!

So I’ve given up on the older men of Idol this year. Dude, seriously? What was that? You’re much better than that.
All about Carly tonight. Holy crap, c’mon! That was amazing, as was last week.
Yes fine, also young David Whateverhisface is also very good. But I’m too busy being sad that my dreadlocks boy is [...]

On Hold

Lots of stuff feels ‘on hold’ these days. Well… it’s a mixture of on hold due to outside forces, or things I’m just procrastinating on. Examples include:
- Deciding what to do with this here blog (give out the password for protected entries? Password-protect the whole thing?)
- Figuring out where I might travel this spring (nowhere [...]

Apology

For any of my (very few) readers that use an RSS feed of some sort to read my blog: I apologize for all the annoying updates. I’m frigging around with some privacy settings and just taking out sections of certain posts. I’m getting paranoid so I’m exploring some options. If I decide to just finally [...]

Tired

Sure-fire signs that spare teeth is tired:
- Weepy
- Lonely
- Bitchy
- Judgemental
- Frivolous Spending
- Munchy
- Inability to recognize above signs as indicators of tiredness
- Refusal to go to sleep
I would say that I am exhibiting all of the above. Am I going to sleep? Clearly not. I intend to take advantage of the free cable in [...]

Bloody Saturday

We got last-minute, discounted tickets to see a ridiculous, over-the-top musical yesterday afternoon. Not exactly high art, but very amusing. Much blood is spilled (all over the front rows, for that matter).
That’s not the real point of this post, however. On our way home, we stopped to pick up some salmon and Cam volunteered [...]
