Cuba is where John and I had hoped to spend our honeymoon, but stoopid cancer got in the way. Oh, and yeah, it's kinda complicated for Americans to get there (although not impossible and we had found some good options). Your vacation sounds great. I share your ambivalence about all-inclusives. At the same time, as I've gotten older (sigh), I find that I value the total relaxation + no decision making that those kinds of places offer. Adventure travel is awesome, but it isn't all that relaxing. Glad you were able to get away. Hope you can go back! Oh, lovely.
